Saigon – Hanoi Bank Lao Sole Co., Limited (SHB Lao) was established under the Establishment and Operating License issued by the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL) on 18 December 2015 and currently operates under the latest amended License No. 39/BOL dated 30 August 2024. SHB Lao officially commenced operations as a wholly foreign-owned subsidiary bank in 2016 following its transformation from the Champasak Branch of Saigon – Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) in the Lao PDR, which had been established since 2012.
Over more than a decade of presence in the Lao market, SHB Lao has steadily strengthened its position and enhanced its brand reputation while continuously improving corporate governance, operational efficiency, and competitiveness. The Bank remains committed to its objective of sustainable and prudent growth, maintaining a balanced approach between expansion and operational effectiveness in line with the socio-economic development orientation and market conditions of the Lao PDR.
Throughout its operations, SHB Lao has consistently adhered to the laws and regulations of the Lao PDR, closely aligning with the policies and directions of the Government and the Bank of the Lao PDR. As a financial bridge between Vietnam and Laos, SHB Lao places particular emphasis on supporting Vietnamese enterprises investing and operating in the Lao PDR.
